Chris Waugh is the President and owner of On The Fly, Inc. She works with leaders and teams that want to soar, providing customized inspiration, tools and training.

An motivating keynote speaker from Oregon, Chris is the author of four books, Flying by the Seat of Your Pants, Updrafts: Insights that Lend Wings to Your Success, Leadership In Change, and Misty Memories of Guard Island. She is also a featured author in Speaking of Success, along with Ken Blanchard, Jack Canfield, Stephen Covey, and other success experts.

Her roots were in the banking industry, where Chris was a commercial loan officer. She learned that sufficient finances were not enough to ensure success of a business enterprise. In her next career, she created, built and managed a group of tourist attractions and managed them over the span of fifteen years, along with a restaurant and two retail shops. With dozens of young minimum wage employees, she refined her leadership style and accepted an international customer service award on behalf of her staff.

Next, as chief operations officer for a medical device manufacturing plant, Chris traveled extensively to market the product, and led a self-directed work team to qualify for ISO 9002 and move the factory to a new location. She discovered, though, that the motivation and productivity issues for these highly compensated employees were the same ones she faced with minimum wage teenagers. Her inspiring leadership insights evolved from those lessons.
